Is BizLibrary a Good Fit for You?

A First-Time Buyer’s Guide to Finding the Right Fit

Buying your first Learning & Development (L&D) platform can feel overwhelming. How do you choose an LMS? Where do you start? What should you look for? What if you don’t even know what questions to ask?

Take a deep breath. You’re not alone—and you’re in the right place.

At BizLibrary, we work with first-time buyers every day. Our approach is consultative, supportive, and outcomes-focused. We’re not just selling software; we’re helping growing businesses create kinder, more competent workplaces of continuous learning.

Let’s walk through how to know if our platform is the right fit for you.

What Problem Do We Help Solve?

You’re probably here because something’s not working—or because you’re growing fast and need to level up your training game. Sound familiar?

  • You’re trying to scale employee training but can’t afford to hire more trainers.
  • Knowledge is trapped in silos, and consistency across teams is a challenge.
  • You can’t measure ROI on the training you’re already doing.
  • Onboarding is clunky or slow, especially with remote or multi-location teams.
  • You’re losing talent unsustainably either due to other opportunities or internal conflicts

These are very common problems, especially for companies in growth mode or going through digital transformation. Our solutions exist to help you fix these issues and others efficiently and at scale.

What Makes a Good Fit for Our Platform?

If any of the following sounds like your business, you’ll probably love working with us. We have clients of all sizes in every industry, but there are a few that we mesh especially well with.

2.1. Company Size & Stage

We typically serve companies with 100–2,500 employees, but we’re especially well-suited for those in the 200–500 range. You likely have:

  • A dispersed workforce
  • A significant number of frontline or deskless employees
  • A need for scalable solutions, fast

2.2. Industry Alignment

We work best with industries where compliance and upskilling are key, including:

  • Business Services
  • Construction
  • Consumer Services
  • Finance
  • Hospitality
  • Manufacturing
  • Telecommunications
  • Transportation
  • Healthcare

2.3. Learning & Development Goals

You’re probably looking to:

  • Build your first L&D strategy correctly – the first time
  • Launch leadership training for all levels – from first-time managers to executives!
  • Solve onboarding and compliance headaches while giving your employees the upskilling opportunities they need to grow

2.4. Team Characteristics

  • You don’t have a dedicated L&D team (yet)
  • Training is managed by HR, Ops, or team leads
  • You want user-friendly tech with minimal IT involvement
  • You're balancing tight budgets, short timelines, and limited resources
  • This is your first LMS—and you’re still figuring out what you need

2.5. Buying Mindset

  • You want to start with what you need and scale over time
  • You value partnership over transactions
  • You’re looking for strategic advice, not just a login screen – but we’re happy to let you do your own thing if you want to!

Long story short – we're a great fit for organizations who are seeking to “right-size” their learning solution. Maybe you’re growing quickly and your current technology and training content isn’t cutting it – or maybe you jumped headfirst into something you weren’t quite ready for (hey – way to be ambitious!) and you’re looking to scale back to just what you actually need. Either way – BizLibrary has flexible packaging options that ensure you get just the essentials – and we’re ready to grow when you are!

Common Misfits (And Why That’s Okay)

We’re not for everyone—and that’s a good thing. It allows us to give our clients the extra attention that makes our BizLibrary partnership special – the strategic support, marketing resources, fulfilling client requests, and more!

We may not be the best fit if:

  • You’re based outside of the US or Canada
    • Our compliance content is diverse and varied but focused mostly on ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in the United States and Canada.
  • You only need a small number of very specific courses
    • BizLibrary is a content aggregator and producer – we have a content library of over 10,000 courses that has a variety of topics from software instruction to executive coaching. While we do have a handful of specialty libraries for some organizations in finance, manufacturing, and healthcare (among a few others) - we do our best work with clients that are looking to make learning and career development an ongoing part of the workplace culture instead of a yearly event.
  • Your organization has fewer than 50 employees
    • Our solution is a great option for small and mid-size businesses, but it can be a little overwhelming for organizations with less than 50 employees. At that size, there are lots of free tools and options to manage L&D – but when it starts to feel like it’s growing beyond your capacity at 50 or more – give us a call!

Those aren't all deal-breakers—but we want you to get the right solution, even if it’s not us.

Questions You Don’t Know to Ask (But Should)

If you’re new to buying L&D tech, you might not know what to ask. Here are some smart questions to bring to the table:

  • How will I measure success in 3, 6, and 12 months?
  • Who will manage the platform internally?
  • What support and onboarding do you provide?
  • Can this integrate with my HR or performance tools?
  • Will my existing content work in your system?

If you’re:

  • A growing company (100–2,500 employees)
  • In an industry that takes compliance, skills, or training seriously
  • Juggling competing priorities with no dedicated L&D function
  • Looking for a strategic partner—not just software
