Mel joined BizLibrary in June 2019. She is responsible for providing support to remote SaaS clients by identifying, researching, and solving end-user tech issues.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in St. Louis!
How did you end up at BizLibrary?
Carli, BizLibrary’s recruiter, found me on LinkedIn – but the community and attitude here made me stay.
Tell us a bit about your background.
I’ve always been passionate about art and music. I played percussion for a large chunk of my life and then switched over to playing the ukulele. I went to The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) and worked in Residential Life while earning a bachelor’s in criminology and criminal justice. I then immediately jumped in and earned my master’s (also in CCJ) while assisting at-risk students with Student Enrichment and Achievement.
Before I came to BizLibrary, I was releasing medical records as a Client Service Representative.
What’s your favorite part of working at BizLibrary?
So far my favorite thing is that I now have unlimited access to training on topics that I’ve been wanting to do for years. Beyond that, I’d say the camaraderie here is unlike anything I’ve seen before. It’s very heartwarming.
Describe yourself in three words.
Artist. Jokester. Nerd.
Who would play you in a movie about yourself?
If I could get Niecy Nash or Queen Latifah to do it that would be amazing.
Why is employee training important to you?
Employee training is important to me because a firm foundation is critical to rooting new knowledge. I’ve spent my entire work history putting people in contact with resources, and assisting with that process here will be very rewarding.
