Moving Beyond Boring Compliance Training

BizLibrary's e-book explores new ways to think about compliance training. While most companies view compliance as a necessary cost of business, this short e-book promotes moving beyond this conventional wisdom.
Here is a brief excerpt from the e-book:
We need to find new ways to think about compliance training. The “conventional wisdom” on the topic is that it’s required, so just make everyone go through it. The problem with this “conventional wisdom,” or dogma, is that it is extremely limiting. There may be no other area of our employee training efforts more in need of a change in thinking and lifting of our preconceived limitations than compliance training.
We are used to thinking about compliance training as a cost of doing business. It’s required, so it fits neatly into the compliance aspect of our HR function. As for metrics, the conventional wisdom – or results of other people’s thinking – is that it’s hard to measure something that does not happen.
Since compliance training is supposed to prevent incidents or claims, we can’t always be sure it’s worked, because we can’t measure what never happened. Right?
