In order to experience the full array of multimedia features in the CompanyCollege Learning Management System, please ensure you have your web browser setup properly. Below are descriptons of the settings and plugins to configure your web browser to function properly in the CompanyCollege LMS environment:

Microsoft Internet Explorer
The CompanyCollege LMS and all of its innovative components function best while being viewed with Internet Explorer version 5.0 or above.

Java Virtual Machines
The Softskills online courseware featured in the CompanyCollege LMS utilize java-based technology to communicate information such as test results and bookmark location. For optimal performance and reliability, please ensure that your workstation has the one of the following Java engines installed.

  • Microsoft JVM is supported with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x and greater
  • Sun JRE (with JVM) version 1.3.1_02 to 1.3.1_15; 1.4.0 to 1.4.0_04; 1.4.1 to 1.4.1_07; 1.4.2, to 1.4.2_08; 1.5.0, to 1.5.0_06

Note: Version 1.5.0_05 to 1.5.0_06 are not currently compatible with the SkillSim courses. For SkillSims, the highest supported release is 1.5.0_04.

Please check with your IT department if you are unsure of which JVM to install.

** Note: The "Auto Update" feature in the Sun Java Plug-in may upgrade your version past the supported release level. After installing the plug-in, please disable this feature:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Java Plug-in -> Update Tab -> Uncheck "Check for Updates Automatically"

Macromedia Flash Player
Two courseware lines in CompanyCollege utilize Macromedia Flash to pass rich multimedia content to the user. The Workplace Health and Safety courses use Flash technology to pass audio and visual content to the learner, while our Technical line of courses leverage Flash to present interactive software "simulations" which assists in the learning process. Please ensure that the Macromedia Flash Player plugin installed in your web browser.
