Core Values and Competencies as a Foundation for TrainingPowerpoint-symbol.gif

Angela Cavallaro, Director
WorkPlace Strategies, LLC

This presentation will explore competencies and how they can be identified within an organization. Competencies often lay the groundwork for core values and are then used in congruence with these values as the guiding principles and common ground for an organization’s leadership and/or entire employee base. In order to be effective, core values/competencies should have metrics attached to them. But how does an organization eliminate the subjectivity of human behaviors? This integral question will be explored as the importance of linking training to core values and competencies becomes apparent. Strategies for using core values and competencies as a basis for training curriculums will be discussed.
