1. Align, BizLibrary's Annual ConferencePreparation for Align 2011, BizLibrary's 4th Annual Conference, is well underway. With HRCI approved Breakout Sessions and exciting Keynote Addresses (more to come!) we expect this year's event to have the highest attendance to date.

What is Align, BizLibrary’s Annual Conference?
Align brings together learning professionals and practitioners across industries to discuss best practices and trends within training, employee development and learning technology.

The event begins September 20th with a Welcome Event. The next morning opens with breakfast and a Keynote address in the main banquet room at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark (see the video clip of Randy Pennington from Align 2010). The Keynote address is followed by your choice of Breakout Sessions, a break for lunch and networking, followed by more Breakout Sessions. The day culminates with an awards dinner recognizing this year's ”Excellence in E-Learning” honorees -- clients and partners recognized for having created exceptional programs (view 2010 Award Winners). The final day of the conference will offer a 2nd Keynote address and additional Breakout Sessions.

Align 2011 will feature a total of 23 breakout sessions spanning across the 2nd and 3rd day of the conference. We are planning to offer at least 10 CE credits for HR Professionals. Presenters include BizLibrary Clients, Partners and Industry Leaders. During the Breakout Sessions you will learn inspirational strategies, tools and processes that BizLibrary Clients and Partners have deployed in their own organizations and have had a proven business impact.

This has changed my thinking about time considerably. I truly want to be able to respond to the question "How is your day going?" with an emphatic "Productive" and MEAN it! Further, I am interested in diving into other chapters of this book to see how the diagram helps to develop a plan. And finally, I LOVE the idea of creating a list of the 10 most important people in your personal life and 25 most important in your business life and checking against interaction with them each day/week/month! I really enjoyed this! I found the writing style to be somewhat fun and more conversational as opposed to dry and instructional. I found myself thinking about my processes that I follow on a day to day basis- email can truly be addictive, and something I want to get better about. It's so easy to continue an email chain, but much more important to take the time to build the connection with a simple phone call. I also think it's easy to lose yourself in your day to day activities, and before you know it, the week is over.
